StreamExtensionsEncrypt(Stream, Stream, String, Byte) Method

Encrypts a source stream by the Aes algorithm using the provided password and a randomly generated salt, and writes the encrypted result to the destination stream. Both streams remain open after the encryption is done.

Parameters

source  Stream
The source stream to encrypt.
destination  Stream
The destination stream to write the encrypted data to.
password  String
Password of encryption.
salt  Byte
When this method returns, contains the randomly generated salt bytes used to derive the key and initialization vector bytes. This parameter is passed uninitialized.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type Stream. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).
